Our Goals

The Sattva Foundation was formed to support Buddhist cultural events and philosophical teachings in the West. We host extraordinary Rinpoches from Bhutan, India and Tibet to share an ancient tradition of authentic and profound teachings that enhance our lives and activate our inherently existing compassion and wisdom.

PAST & PRESENT EVENTS in the West include:

Retreats lead by Tibetan and Bhutanese Lamas on various subjects.
In spite of his busy schedule, Anyen Rinpoche teaches ongoing in Aspen (see events). During 2006 & 2007, the Sattva Foundation hosted the Nechung Oracle, H.E. Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche, Anyen Rinpoche and Lamas from the Central Monastic Body of Bhutan. In 2006, we were honored to have Tsoknyi Rinpoche give a one evening talk.

The Monks from Bhutan gave teachings, empowerments, constructed a Medicine Buddha sand mandala (March 07) and performed Bhutanese & Tibetan sacred dance performances (March 07)

In 2007, we helped build a private stupa in Aspen and we are currently looking for land to build a public stupa in the area. We are already making tsa tsas in anticipation of filling the stupa!

In 2006, Patricia co-produced a Buddhist CD entitled "Perfection of Wisdom", chanted by Geshe Gendun Gyatso. Perfection of Wisdom continues to sell well on Amazon.com, and we have started recording various new cds.

In the Aspen area, our goal is to house teachers and events in temporary locations until a healing retreat center/stupa can be built. Because of the growing community of Buddhist practioners in the area, the events held in Aspen to date have had a very successful turnout and we hope to reach our goals in the near future.
